ABOUT US
Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.”
Martin Luther King Jr. famously wrote, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
The Presiding Bishop of The Church of God In Christ, J. Drew Sheard, often says, “If you don’t see it before you see it, you never will See it.”
Bryan Walker, Partner and Managing Director, Ideo, correctly pointed out, “culture is like the wind. It is invisible, yet its effect can be seen and felt.”
At Before You See It, we help our clients identify and address their most pressing communications and people challenges, which are key to building trust and enabling the cultures leaders and employees desire. We are interested in enabling our clients to achieve results by understanding the big picture and delving into the details that matter most. The range of activities, challenges and initiatives that drive culture is vast and there is no one-size-fits all approach. However, we will partner with clients to identify and address tangible deliverables that help solve complex problems.

MY STORY
Tyra Metoyer is a highly skilled, results-oriented people and culture ambassador, communications strategist, change leader and learning executive with nearly 30 years of experience. Her remarkable ability to understand and solve complex problems has equipped her to become adept at strategic partnerships, change management, executive coaching, internal and executive communications, learning and development, employee engagement and advocacy, diversity, equity and inclusion in complex, dynamic industries. She has worked in tech, oil and natural gas, higher education, non-profits, and for a range of clients as an independent consultant.
As a connector who enjoys bringing order to chaos, Tyra’s competencies, coupled with her business acumen honed across several industries uniquely qualify her to help organizations identify and address their most urgent communications and people challenges. She recently launched, Before You See It, a full-service consultancy to help organizations manifest the cultures they desire.
While Before You See It draws on her vast expertise, the role that best prepared Tyra to most effectively help clients solve problems was Vice President of Executive and Internal Communications for Juul Labs, Inc, where she assumed various roles with increasing responsibility over nearly five years with the embattled electronic cigarette-maker. She worked closely with executive leaders on communications, culture, change management, and a range of employee experience and people-related initiatives.
Previously, she was Manager of External Mobilization for the American Petroleum Institute where she was the national lead for workforce of the future, STEM, and education initiatives, outreach to non-traditional allies, and the Energy Nation program, which was an education and advocacy program for employees of the oil and natural gas industry. Her workforce of the future, STEM and education initiatives were focused internally on helping the oil and gas industry develop tools and outreach programs to attract and retain a more diverse workforce; and externally on helping a broad base of non-traditional allies and strategic partners ( such as African Americans, Latinos, Women, Veterans, Native Americans, Millennials, etc.) understand and prepare to take advantage of the range of career opportunities in the oil and natural gas and petrochemical industries.
Prior to working as a consultant while matriculating as a full time graduate student and fellow, Tyra was the Director of Communications at the Texas A&M University System and Director of University Relations at Prairie View A&M University, where she managed communications, media relations, web content, marketing and brand activities.
